LOCATION & TRANSPORTATION

Dalton and Whitfield County are located 30 miles south of Chattanooga and 90 miles north of Atlanta on Interstate 75. The area is within a day's drive of half the country's population. Within a 350 mile radius you'll also find 79 of the Fortune 1000, as well as 13 major Metropolitan Statistical Areas.

Two primary airports are used by the community: Lovell Field in Chattanooga, and Hartsfield-Jackson International in Atlanta. Each is easily accessible by automobile or shuttle express.

Dalton's Municipal Airport, known as Jolly Field, supports both local private air enthusiasts and corporate commuters. This FAA approved facility has a lighted 5,500 foot asphalt runway. The area is also served by two railroads, CSX and Norfolk Southern.
